SIRPA JÄRVINEN

I am a visual artist, illustrator, and graphic designer from Tuusula. My inspiration comes from the surrounding nature. 

I was born in Kerava in 1973 and grew up in an ordinary working-class home in a suburban apartment block. I settled in Tuusula with my own family in 1998. Photographing everyday life and nature, as well as an interest in creating art, have been inherited in my family. My love for colors and being in nature has strengthened with age, and my works often reflect the impact of nature on my mind. In my pieces, I blend fantasy with natural experiences. In my professional life, I have always been connected to art, art-making, art education, and photography/photo editing in one way or another.

My studio is located in Tuusula, upstairs in my home.

In addition, I have had a long career in early childhood education (childcare and pre-primary education), with responsibilities including art education. I was part of the art education working group for the municipality of Tuusula (Taikatuuli).
